Schengen Visa for UAE citizens in 24 hours

Abu Dhabi, 27th Jan. 2010 (WAM) -- The French government has ended the pre-national consultation process for issuing entry visa for UAE normal passport holders, a senior foreign ministry official said today.

''The respective resolution took effect from 15 December 2009,'' Sultan Mohammed Al Ali, Director of UAE Foreign Ministry Information Affairs, affirmed.

He explained that UAE citizens wishing to obtain Schengen Visa should log on thewebsite of the French Embassy in Abu Dhabi to set a prior date and get the necessary information about the visa application.

According to him, children applicants above 12 years should report personally to the Embassy premises to have their fingerprint taken.

''In case of complete file, the applicant from now on can have the Schengen Visa within 24 hours,'' he added.
