The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) to complete the Jubail sea water cooling booster pump station by Q4 2014, a senior official at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu told Zawya.

"The project which commenced in April 2010, is expected to be complete by the end of 2014," said Dr. Mosleh H. Al-Otaibi, CEO, Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu.

"Once complete, the station will support the Jubail Industrial city with a constant supply of sea water for industrial cooling purposes. The construction includes a sea water cooling (SWC) pump station, an intake structure, screens as well as connections to the sea water cooling distribution network to the industrial city," said Al-Otaibi.

The project once finalized will have a capacity of pumping 80,000 cubic meters per hour of seawater used for industrial cooling purposes.

According to Zawya projects Monitor, the project includes construction of a booster pumping station, seawater cooling pump station, an intake structure, instrumentation works, a fiber optic network, electric power supply, manifold structures, valve chambers, flow chambers, fire water system including tanks and pumps, and a portable water system, and an industrial waste water system.
