DOHA: The King Khalid Foundation (KKF) in Saudi Arabia yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Office for Partnerships (UNOP) to promote mutual co-operation for achieving the UN's Millennium Development goals.
The MoU was signed by Princess Banderi Abdul Rahman Al Faisal, KKF director and Amir Dossal, Executive Director of the UNOP on the sidelines of the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists which opened here yesterday.
The partnership seeks to use smart philanthropy as a vehicle to promote peace and development.
Established by the family of the late King Khalid of Saudi Arabia, KKF is a leading philanthropic institution aimed at improving social and economic development in Saudi Arabia.
The Foundation uses its resources and expertise to make a positive impact in people's lives and works in partnership with other organizations to provide innovative solutions to critical social and economic challenges in the Kingdom.
UNOP encourages investment in high-impact initiatives by assisting in the design of programs and projects, helping establish and manage networks and advising on UN procedures and best practices.
