Riyadh – Mubasher: Deposits at banks operating in Saudi Arabia increased by 8.1% year-on-year or SAR 128.55 billion in the second quarter of 2019.

Total deposits amounted to SAR 1.718 trillion ($458.07 billion) in Q2-19, from SAR 1.589 trillion ($423.79 billion) in Q2-18, according to Mubasher statistics.

Total deposit of the Saudi British Bank (SABB) hiked by 47.55% to SAR 196.15 billion during the three-month period ended June, from SAR 132.93 billion in the same period of the previous year.

Bank Aljazira came in second place with total deposits worth SAR 55.68 billion by the end of June, up 16.57% from SAR 47.77 billion in the corresponding period last year.

On the other hand, deposits declined in three banks are of Saudi Investment Bank, Banque Saudi Fransi, and Samba Financial Group by 6.3%, 3.05% and 0.17%, respectively.
