DOHA, 22 March 2007 -- Rotana Audio Visual (Rotana), the world's largest producer and distributor of Arabic music, movies and broadcaster of premium TV channels, signed an MOU with Qtel, the leading multi-service operator in Qatar to distribute its digital entertainment portfolio including Mobile-TV, Triple-Play Services, mobile music & video clips downloading and a multitude of VAS services in Qatar.

"The joint agreement between Rotana and Qtel will bring the best of Arabic entertainment to Qtel's customers, including popular TV programs, music, movies and on-demand digital entertainment services," Yousef H. Mugharbil, GM of Digital Media at Rotana, said.

"The multimillion riyal agreement brings the best of Arabic entertainment over one of the most advanced digital networks in the region encompassing mobile, DVB-H and Triple-Play networks," Mugharbil added. "Building on our success in the 15th Asian Games held in Doha in December 2006, Qtel continues to deploy the latest of network infrastructures across the country and bring innovative services to its customers," Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani, executive director, Wireless at Qtel, said.

"Our agreement with Rotana will further enhance our customer offering by bringing premium content directly to our customers across the Qtel network," Al-Thani said.
