DOHA: ExxonMobil will support the third annual World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) as a gold sponsor, to support the goal of developing innovative solutions to take on the world's education challenges.
Qatar Foudnation and Exxinmobil together yesterday announced about the support and gold sponsorship for the summit.
"ExxonMobil has also been a firm supporter of WISE since our first Summit two years ago. Its dedication to education and innovation make it a perfect fit for WISE, and I am proud to welcome it - for the third year in succession - as a gold sponsor of WISE 2011," said Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, WISE Chairman.
"ExxonMobil recognised from the outset that WISE could make a positive contribution to one of the greatest challenges of our time and improve the lives of very many people. We thank the company for its continuing trust in us, and we look forward to a strengthening relationship as WISE widens and deepens its activities year by year," Dr Al Thani, said yesterday addressing a press Conference held at the Recreation Centre within the Education City.
The third WISE summit will be held between November 1 and November 3 at the Qatar National Convention Centre will bring together decision-makers from multiple sectors around the world who share a commitment to building the future of education. WISE is also a year-round collaborative platform dedicated to sharing ideas and best practices which can transform learning and teaching.

Further to providing gold sponsorship support, Larry Harlan, Manager of Corporate Citizenship and Community Investment, ExxonMobil will speak during WISE on a panel entitled, 'Supporting and Empowering Educators.' In this session, participants will discuss existing professional development systems for teachers in developed and developing countries, and how these programs might improve.
Further, ExxonMobil is actively involved in a variety of educational initiatives in Qatar in addition to WISE, including Injaz, the Social Development Center, career fairs, scholastic competitions, high school and university-level internship programs, regional scholarship initiatives and university-level research programs.
