DOHA: In an effort to extend its support to the General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD), the Qatar Fertilizer Company (Qafco) announced to sponsor the third edition of the Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference. The event is expected to take place here next month.
A cheque worth QR250,000 was handed over at a press conference held recently at the headquarters of Qafco Al Sadd area. Qafco CEO and the head of the technical committee for the international fertilizers federation Khalifa Abdullah Al Suwaidi , Director of fire prevention at the department of GDCD, Brig Aman Saad Al Sulaiti, Head of the media and awareness at GDCD, Captain Hussain Aman Al Ali and Executive officer for the administrative affairs at Qafco Hamid Al Marwani were present on the occasion.
"The sponsorship amount is specialised for supporting the workshops for engineers and employees working in the safety and security fields that will be held on the sidelines of the third Civil Defence Expo and conference in Doha.
Khalifa Al Suwaidi said: "I would like to stress on the importance of cooperation and coordination between Qafco and GDCD, which exists from a long period, especially in the field of training and all fields related with safety. The prevention is very important in the work sites, especially of the big companies and factories in which the risks will be major. For this reason we have supported this event as it is considered as one of the most important conferences and exhibitions in the safety field".
