AMMAN — Wejdan Abu Elhaija, vice president for academic affairs at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), on Monday received a delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and innovation.

The JICA delegation was headed by Masayuki Furukawa, senior deputy director of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, according to a PSUT statement.

The meeting was arranged by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Royal Scientific Society, according to a PSUT statement.

Abu Elhaija reviewed PSUT’s progress and its achievements at the local and global levels, and its progression in the world university rankings.

She emphasised that the university, under the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya, chair of its board of trustees, "strives to be a global university with a local spirit".

Furukawa praised PSUT's standing, its academic reputation, and the high level of its graduates, welcoming all cooperation with the university and the RSS in projects that serve the AI system.
