The progress of the Salman Town Sewage Treatment Plant was reviewed during an inspection visit.Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry sanitary drainage assistant under-secretary Ibrahim Al Hawaj was accompanied by members of the Treated Wastewater Reuse committee, and officials from the Health Ministry and the National Oil and Gas Authority.
A detailed presentation was made during the visit, showing the mechanism of the plant as well as stages of wastewater and sludge treatment followed by a tour of the station to review the technologies used in the treatment as part of the pilot project of Pavilion Water to recycle waste water.
“The aim of the visit was to exchange scientific and practical experience to enhance the use of treated wastewater as a source of water for public gardens and irrigation,” said Mr Al Hawaj.
He added that the plant was part of an integrated plan to cover all four governorates with sanitation services under the main strategic government initiative to develop infrastructure services.
