The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has invited contractors to prequalify for the design and construction of the Biodome at the New Doha Zoo.
The contractor will work collaboratively with the construction supervision consultant and the main contractor.
The last date to submit the prequalification acknowledgement is 17 April, while the closing date for prequalification application submission is 28 April, 2014.
Qatar's New Doha Zoo, spread over 75 hectares, is seven times the old zoo and will open to the visitors by 2017.
It will feature a controlled biosphere roof system, which 'rains' once an hour, according to an article published on 24 February in the Qatari English daily Doha News.
HHCP+PJA, the American specialist zoo design consultants, are the master planners and concept design consultants, whereas KEO International will supervise its design and construction, according to the Ashghal website.
