DAMASCUS - Prime Minister Adel Safar on Thursday issued a decision on forming a committee to supervise the implementation of the National Women Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation Program.
The committee will be headed by Chairman of the State Planning and International Cooperation Commission and will include Assistant Ministers of Local Administration, Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and Social Affairs and Labor, Human Development Consultant at the State Planning Commission and Director of Follow-up Department at the Cabinet.
The decision also provides for forming a technical committee of a number of consultants and directors which will be tasked with evaluating the implementation on the ground of the Program and suggesting the appropriate mechanism for carrying out the development projects.
In another context, Premier Safar stressed the government's support to drug industry, highlighting its efforts to offer all the necessary facilitations to help the industry cover local needs and increase its competitiveness and export capacity.
During his meeting with secretary general and members of the Scientific Council of Pharmaceutical Industries, Safar reviewed the situation of drug industry in Syria and the requirements of protecting national pharmaceutical products and ensuring efficiency and pharmaceutical supervision.
