"Achieving accreditation is not only an achievement for PHCC staff, but also for the people of Qatar. Having an internationally recognised healthcare system reassures that we offer one of the best primary care services and we will continue to progress on this path," she added.
The ACI programme is based on international standards of excellence is recognised by the Canadian and international healthcare communities and at all levels of government.
A team of six surveyors from ACI evaluated the levels of quality provided in PHCC health centres after a long process of work on the programme.
There are three levels of ACI -- golden, the primary level, platinum, the advanced second level, and diamond, the highest level.
Getting the advanced platinum level with the first circle of accreditation was the result of PHCC's concerted efforts which continued over three years from the start of the accreditation circle through the development of plans at all levels of work and their implementation in all health centres with a high level of professionalism and commitment by staff.
ACI is one of the oldest international accreditation organisations and most experienced in certifying primary healthcare services across the world.
