Muscat: Nearly 900,000 people visited the Muscat Festival this year, according to the latest data from the Muscat Municipality (MM).

“As many as 877,177 people visited the Muscat Festival 2018 between January 18 and February 10,” the Muscat Municipality said. The festival had an array of diverse activities for both locals and those visiting from across the region. On the Muscat Festival grounds, knowledge was shared, friendships were built, and most importantly, people from around the Gulf caught a glimpse of the Omani heritage.

Some of the events at Al Amerat Park that became popular were the heritage village, trade fair, the corner of embassies, and the amusement park. At Naseem Gardens, the Chinese show of luminous dinosaurs, consumer exhibition, entertainment Arts Park, and open theatre shows drew huge crowds.

Other highlights of this year included the Bedouin village, where natives from the Sharqiyah region participated to share the beauty of their traditions. Staples such as thrilling rides, a global exhibition, magic shows, traditional dances, live performances, and local acts were a major attraction as well.
