The Oman LNG Development Foundation signed an agreement with the Oman Medical Specialties Board (OMSB) to finance the training of medical personnel at Sur Hospital in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate – a move that will pave the way for the accreditation of the hospital as a training centre.

The agreement also includes a provision for the Board’s Medical Simulation and Innovation Center to provide various specialised training courses for doctors of the hospital.

The programmes will be delivered virtually via the Center’s eLearning platform, while others will be offered for in-person attendance at the Center’s well-equipped facilities. These courses are designed to develop the skillsets and capabilities of Sur Hospital’s medical staff from different specialties.

Sunday’s agreement was signed by Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, CEO – Oman Medical Specialties Board, while the Oman LNG Development Foundation was represented by its CEO, Dr Amor bin Nasser al Matani.

In remarks, Dr Al Sabti said the pact comes within the framework of efforts by public and private sector organisations to support collaboration with the aim of boosting the capabilities of Omani medical personnel and raise the overall standards of healthcare services in the Sultanate.
