MUSCAT -- National Training Institute LLC (NTI) yesterday signed an agreement with International Partners for Advancement of Computers (iPAC) to become a 'Certiport IQ' centre.

This status will enable NTI to provide training and certify participants in IC3 and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications. His Highness Mohammed bin Khalid Al Said, chairman, of iPAC, and Lawrence Alva, general manager, of NTI signed the agreement in the presence of Marie Taylor, vice-president, Certiport, at NTI centre in Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos.

New Horizons Computer Learning Centre, Oman, which is operated by NTI, will conduct the training course. Officials of NTI said this agreement marked another milestone in Oman's training industry.

Certiport's Internet and Computing Core Certification is the ideal certification to demonstrate critical computer and internet skills valued in today's academic and professional environments. Because digital literacy is vital to the success in both of these endeavours, IC3 is the perfect credential for both traditional and non-traditional students as well as employees. MOS exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise by evaluating one's overall comprehension of Office or Microsoft project programmes, ability to use advanced features and ability to integrate the office programmes with other software programmes.
