MUSCAT -- Bank Sohar will be officially launched tomorrow, under the patronage of Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Minister of Health and Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Oman. The opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 pm at the main branch of Bank Sohar in the CBD area. This will be followed by a reception commemorating this momentous occasion at the Grand Hyatt Muscat.

Commenting on the occasion, Nani Javeri, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Sohar, stated that the bank's vision is to be a "truly world class universal bank". He also added, "We as a team are looking forward to position Bank Sohar as a one stop financial super mall having boutiques of products and services across various segments, each having a unique set of propositions."

"The bank's products were being designed at adding value to the customers whether it be those of private individual customers or the corporate businesses which the bank aims at targeting to grow the nation's economy at a fast pace. The bank's products have been designed after thorough market research, which has been an aid in the same products and approach to the customers. This will be an ongoing process and customer feedback will be taken to improve the products and achieve excellence in the service of the bank to its customers," he said, adding that the bank would have innovative schemes for its customers.

The bank is committed to the Omanisation process and believes in giving its staff -- its most valuable asset -- the best training and development, thus enabling employees to deliver their best service to the customers and further strengthening the bank's commitment to its focus on excellence. Khalfan bin Rashid Amour al Tal'ey, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking of Bank Sohar, added: "The official launch of Bank Sohar is considered to be the official beginning of Bank Sohar's role in sustaining the national economic development process and keeping pace with the international players in the international financial markets as well."

"The launch would be an important event in the domestic market and will promote healthy competition between the major players, which would result in the customer having a wider choice of options to choose from. Bank Sohar is creating banking solutions as unique as the customers' need," Al Tal'ey stated.
