Oiltanking Starts Construction Of Sohar Bulk Liquids Storage Terminal
Hamburg-based Oiltanking announced on 16 May it had started construction of the first 537,000 cu ms phase of an independent bulk liquid storage terminal in Sohar port. This first phase, to be complete by end-2008, will cater for clean petroleum products and has already been reserved by the market. The terminal will undertake the consolidation and break of bulk cargoes and allow blending and upgrading of products. The company has been allocated a 36 hectare site adjacent to the port for the terminal, where it already operates six deepwater marine jetties.
