Dubai: Working hours for private sector companies during Ramadan will be reduced from eight to six hours.

Saqr Gobash Saeed Gobash, Minister of Labour, issued a ministerial circular yesterday to private sector companies and establishments notifying the reduction of working hours in the UAE. Reduced working hours will not have any impact on workers’ salaries.

While the offices of the federal ministries and departments will work from 9am to 2pm, various departments have also announced revised timings to provide maximum support to their customers during Ramadan.

Working hours at various public and private sector offices have been changed for the month of Ramadan.

The customer service counters at the Ministry of Labour will be open from 9am to 5:30pm. Employees at administrative departments and offices will work from 9am to 2pm.

Paid parking hours cut

The paid parking timing in the Mawaqif paid parking areas will be reduced. The paid parking time for vehicles will be from 9am to 4pm, and from 10:30pm to 2:30am. Workings hours for Dubai Courts will be from 9am to 2pm. However, its notary public offices will open from 8.30am to 1.30pm while the working hours for the Central Services and Case Registration sections will be from 8am to 4:30pm. The attestation section will operate from 9 am to 4:30 pm, while the collection section in all branches will be open from 8am to 1:30pm.

The Abu Dhabi Municipality customer service centre will remain open from 9am to 4pm.

Sharjah Municipality has also revised its working hours. The paid parking time in the emirate will be from 8 am to 1 pm and from 7pm to 12 midnight. The municipality clinics will operate from 9am to 2 pm, and from 9pm to 11pm. Visiting hours at the Sharjah National Park will be from 8.30pm to 1.30am.

Slaughter houses in Abu Dhabi will work for more than 16 hours a day. They will remain open from 6 am to 6 pm and from 10 pm to 1:30 am.
