NPC Awards Urea Technology License Contract To Stamicarbon

Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) has awarded a urea technology license contract to Stamicarbon of the Netherlands. IRNA reported on 4 March that the contract’s value was €7.8mn, and that the agreement related to three planned urea projects at Lordegan and in Golestan and Zanjan provinces. NPC awarded a €1bn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract last year to Iranian contractor Hampa Company, for three 1mn tons/year urea plants to be built at these sites (MEES, 19 November 2007). The construction schedule has not yet been decided.
