BAGHDAD: Iraqi Vice-president for National Reconciliation Affairs Iyad Alawi confirmed that agreement with Sunni and Shiite political forces was reached to lay out a "road map to rectify the program of the previous government, headed by Nouri al-Maliki", pointing that "long time needed to liquidate Da'ish organization in Iraq".
In a special interview with Anatolia News Agency, he added that a program for national reconciliation was put, stressing that "the security is the most important for the national security".
He added that contacts are underway with some important groups, who, some of them, expressed readiness to join Iraqi political process, pointing that "the talks need more time in order to be positively crystallized".
About his program, he pointed out that his "road map" which was agreed with other political circles included discussing the demands of the people in the uprising provinces, release of detainees, Sunni-Shiite balance in governmental posts and terminating negligence policies.
He pointed out the general satisfaction of the latest decision to stop bombarding cities and civilians, which "created a state of confidence between the citizens and the government that will help reconciliation process".
