BEIRUT: Italy’s state-run news agency, Agenzia Giornalistica Italia, announced Tuesday the launch of first edition of “Papers of Dialogue – Awraq Al Hiwar,” a magazine aimed at establishing a cultural dialogue between Italy and the Arab world.
AGI held a news conference at the Italian Embassy in Beirut under the patronage of Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Morabito to launch the publication.
Morabito told reporters that his country strongly believed in intercultural and interreligious dialogue as the way to enhance mutual understanding and promote stability while ensuring that everyone fully enjoys human rights and freedom.
“Dialogue is a pillar of Italian policy in Lebanon, as well as [of] our bilateral relations with all MENA countries,” added the ambassador.
Morabito explained that the magazine will greatly contribute to efforts aiming at “building bridges” between Italy and the Arab world in political, economic, cultural and social fields.
According to a statement issued by the Italian Embassy in Beirut, “Papers of Dialogue” provides a unique take on culture, economy, energy, geopolitics and arts and will “contain a level of detail that is sure to satisfy the savviest of readers.”
The magazine will run articles in Italian, English and Arabic.
