The 280,000-square-meters mixed-use community development will preserve the historical downtown of Doha.
Msheireb Properties, a Qatar-based real estate developer, plans to tender the fourth phase of the USD 5.5 billion (QAR 20 billion) Downtown Doha project before the end of 2014, according to a media report on Thursday.
"We intend to issue the tender for the fourth phase of the Msheireb Downtown Doha project before the end of this year," said Abdullah Hassan al-Mehshadi, the CEO at Msheireb Properties.
"Engineering work associated with this phase is currently underway," he said adding that the US-based HOK engineering firm has been the consultant for the entire project since April 2011.
The tender involves construction of retail shops, offices, apartments, a hotel and public utilities, said the Qatari Arabic daily Al Sharq.
The company is pushing ahead with the project according to a defined schedule, said the CEO.
The 280,000-square-meters development is a fully integrated community providing a mix of residential, commercial, heritage and retail offerings and will preserve the historical downtown of Doha, according to the company.
