The Board of Directors of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited has appointed Mohammad Al Tuwaijri, Regional Head of Global Banking and Markets, to the Board of HBME.

The appointment has received the necessary regulatory approval and is effective immediately. Mohammad Al Tuwaijri is also a serving Board member of The Saudi British Bank, HSBC Egypt and HSBC Saudi Arabia Limited.

Commenting on the appointment, HBME Chairman David Eldon said: "Having spent two decades serving the needs of clients across the Middle East, Mohammad brings significant operating and strategic experience to the Board. This considerable experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business across the region, with a firm focus on Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE."

Mohammad Al Tuwaijri joined HSBC in 2010 from JP Morgan, where he was managing director and head of JP Morgan Saudi Arabia. Prior to this, he spent seven years at SABB in a number of senior roles including group head of Treasury and board member of IBSA, deputy treasurer and head of Investments and head of Risk Management.
