Riyadh - The ministry of water and electricity has confirmed that what has been publicized via the Internet on Bisha Valley Dam is untrue, far from reality and not based on technical reports nor on accurate information, noting that it has reported that matter through media organs in a statement issued on Sunday 25/03/1435 AH corresponding to 26/01/2014 AD, that Bisha Valley Dam in Jazan has not affected by tremors that struck the region in past days.
In a press release issued today, the ministry said that regarding what has been mentioned of cracks appeared in Bisha dam with water leakage due to the earthquakes witnessed recently by Jazan region, 'We would like to confirm to all citizens, and residents near the dam in particular, that all these reports are just a fabrication, slander and baseless as the dam was designed after thoroughly studies of the history of earthquakes in the region and in the Red Sea.'
It added that also the pictures published on the dam cracks are not true as they are just stains of water effects resulting from cement injection operations during the dam construction.
