KUWAIT, March 5 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah said on Wednesday formative art in Kuwait is witnessing great development and approach by both young and mature artists and audiences.
Following the inauguration of Bader Al-Qatami's formative arts exhibition at Ahmed Al-Adwani's Hall in Abdullah Al-Salem area, Sheikh Sabah said Al-Qatami represents the generation of artists who founded the formative arts movement in Kuwait.
Sheikh Sabah added that he was happy to inaugurate the exhibition which displays 44 paintings that reflected Kuwait's past and present.
Al-Qatami exhibits his love of the Kuwaiti environment through his paintings which display the sea, desert, palm trees, camel, dhows, and the sea shore during both tide and flow, sunrise and sunset.
Woman is always present in Al-Qatami's paintings and takes part in all activities whether in portraits that depict old Kuwait or modern time.
Those who take a closer look at Al-Qatami's paintings will notice a sense of joy, optimism, song, and dance in addition to his use of cool colors that expresses hope of a beautiful, calm, and optimistic life.
