BEIRUT: Middle East Airlines (MEA) continued its drive to reach out to the sizeable Lebanese expat community in Africa with the opening of a new route between Beirut and Kinshasa Wednesday. MEA flights now cover between 80 and 85 percent of the African continent. MEA chairman Mohammad Hout, MP Yassin Jaber representing speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri and a number of Lebanese businessmen and officials were among those to travel on the first MEA flight to Kinshasa. The Lebanese delegation was received by Congolese Prime Minister Alberto Mozitto, who stressed the importance of boosting economic ties between Congo and Lebanon. “The government of Congo will work on adopting all the necessary measures to attract Lebanese investors to their country,” he said. – The Daily Star
