Kuwait - Dinosaurs are amongst the most fascinating animals to ever walk the earth; their enormous size and everything about them are so intriguing more so, their mysterious disappearance from the face of the earth millions of years ago. Members of the local media Wednesday were invited to a preview screening of the movie at The Scientific Centre IMAX theatre. Some intriguing facts about dinosaurs will be explained in a 3D movie that will be screened by The Scientific Center starting on the first day of Eid. Entitled "Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia," the movie's events take place in the northern Argentine region of Patagonia which is presented on the silver screen for the first time and has fascinated millions of moviegoers the world over.
It was in Patagonia that many fossils were discovered in the past 15 years and movie viewers will be able to follow the discoveries of one of the most famous paleontologists of all time, Argentine Professor Rodolfo Coria who was responsible for the discovery of 12 different species of dinosaurs in his journeys throughout the vast expanse of the Patagonian plains and valleys. Dinosaurs 3D will take audiences on an unprecedented and unique 3D journey into the world of the largest known dinosaurs, and in the process, explore some of the great paleontological discoveries of modern times; and was done in collaboration with the foremost scientists of the domain like Professor Coria.
The movie will show never seen before computer generated footage of the Giganotosaurus and the Argentinosaurus (after the country where it was discovered), to name a few. The Argentine region of Patagonia was chosen as the setting for the movie not only because it is where the largest number of dinosaur fossils were discovered, but for the species of trees and grasses found there that were similar to those during the dinosaur era. Viewers will see how the huge and enormous creatures lived more than a million years ago, how they adapted to their environment at the time, and how they became extinct and probably evolved over the years to live among humans at present; some say birds evolved from the dinosaurs. The film is a marvel in technology and the first movie of its kind showcasing all scientific theories explaining the disappearance of dinosaurs in a highly educational and entertaining manner.
