Careful study of proposal vital: Abdulhadi

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: The government intends to study the possibility of granting foreigners right to own real estate properties, reports Al-Shahid daily.

Lawmaker Naji Al-Abdulhadi said the government should carefully study this proposal, because the country is currently facing problems in granting residential land areas and it might further increase the prices of these properties. He pointed out the decision is better left for the real estate market to regulate the prices and organize ownership procedures for non-Kuwaitis. He argued the government housing projects will also lead to development and creation of additional job opportunities; thereby, addressing the unemployment problem of Kuwait.
