Iran’s Sanir And Georgia’s GIG To Build Two Hydropower Plants In Georgia

Iranian Minister of Energy Majid Namjou and his Georgian counterpart Alexander Khetaguri have agreed that Iran’s Sanir Company and Georgia’s GIG will sign a contract for the construction of two 36mw hydroelectric power plants in western Georgia. Construction of the two plants is expected to cost €68mn, with work scheduled to be completed within 54 months of the final approval. The project will be financed by Iran’s Export Development Bank, Mehr News Agency reported on 4 January.
