Tehran / NINA / Iranian Interior Minister, Abdul Riza Rahmani Fazli saw that the goal of supporting extremist terrorist groups in Iraq by the West over the past years is to pressure on Iran.

IRNA quoted him as saying in the city of Qom, Iran's official Agency "The opponents of the Iranian role in the region have done all they can in the past and in recent decades and supported those oppose Iran and tried to weaken its allies, Palestine, Syria and Iraq."

On Tehran's position about the evolution of security incidents in Iraq, Fazli made it clear that "the Iranian president has given orders to the concerned authorities in Iran to the necessity of military intervention rapid and direct in case holy places in Najaf and Karbala subjected to any potential threat as a red line for Iran," as he put it.
