Intersec 2005 will present more than 1,000 of the latest high-tech security products and services.
The police, fire, security and safety show is scheduled to open at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Saturday.
Brigadier Dr Jamal Al Merri, deputy chief of Dubai Police, announced during a press conference held yesterday at the Dubai Police Officers Club that Intersec 2005 will get the full support of Dubai Police.
One of the most entertaining but important demonstrations during the event, he said, will be a presentation by Dubai Police featuring highly trained sniffer dogs.
"A specialist display area within the exhibition hall has been dedicated for live canine demonstrations."
Michael Al Nayal, joint managing partner of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said Intersec will feature some of the biggest international and local names in the business, including EADS, LG Electronics, 3M and Bosch.
"UAE Government departments have given Intersec substantial support with the Ministry of Interior, the UAE Navy, Dubai Police, the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority and the Federal Electricity and Water Authority taking part.
"In addition to international companies," Brig Dr Al Merri said, "Intersec includes more than 50 companies from the UAE, the largest number to date. Emirates Fire Fighting Equipment Factory, National Fire Fighting Manufacturing, Citytec and Future Trends Establishment add to an impressive line up spanning three halls."
The event will feature 320 companies from 30 countries, with major pavilions from the United Kingdom, Germany, Korea and Taiwan as well as many companies from the United States.
Geoffrey Dickinson, joint managing partner of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said the exhibitions will run parallel with four conferences.
"We have flown in more than 40 of the world's leading police, fire and security experts."
The event, he said, will also have distinguished speakers to talk about different issues, such as anti-terrorism, forensic sciences, the role of the fire service in connection with homeland security, the corporate world, fire protection, security training and saving lives in emergencies.
