The Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Piping Company (GPC) has won contracts for projects valued at Dh115 million in India, Turkey, Poland and Mauritius, the company said.

The biggest contract valued at Dh66.6 million is for the supply of 15 rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTG) for Marport, Istanbul.

"The contract was signed in Istanbul last month. GPC will do the design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, erection, painting, transportation and commissioning of the 15 RTG cranes," a top company official told Gulf News.

"Deliveries will start in February next year and end in June 2006." Of the remaining three contracts, each valued at Dh16.2 million, GPC supplied four RTG cranes to the client Dubai Ports International for the India Gateway Terminal Private Ltd in Cochin.

The cranes were delivered late last month, the official said.

GPC will supply four RTG cranes under another contract for Dh16.2 million to the client Hutchinson Port Holdings of Hong Kong for the Polish port of Gdynia.

The project which commenced last year will be completed in August this year.

Similarly, four RTG cranes valued at Dh16.2 million were delivered last month to the client Cargo Handling Corp Ltd of Mauritius for the Mauritius Container Terminal, Port Louis.

"The project began in April 2004."

GPC undertook the project from the design and engineering to installation and commissioning stage for all the developments.

Set up in 1981, GPC is involved in fabrication and construction activities related to the oil and gas industry, power and water sectors.

The company has undertaken jobs for the Adnoc Group companies and other local and international companies.

"In the last 11 years, we have fully fabricated, erected and pre-commissioned in our Abu Dhabi facility."
