Muscat - Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co has been awarded two construction contracts worth RO19.1mn by Occidental Oman (Oxy) and Oman Medical College, the company said in a filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Thursday.

The company was awarded a RO15mn contract for the construction of a pipeline and fabrication work at the Safah and Wadi Latham oilfields by Oxy.

The construction-service contract signed by Galfar is for a period of two years.

Galfar was also awarded a RO4.1mn contract by Oman Medical College for construction of additional buildings at its Sohar campus. This project is to be completed before July 2014.

"We expect reasonable income from these two projects," said Dr Hans Erlings, chief executive officer of Galfar, in the filing to the MSM.
