Muscat: Food Security Laboratory will be launched on Sunday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre to design an investment programme for the food security sector in Oman.

"Food Security Laboratory is being organised by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, and with the support of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. It will last for four weeks," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

Representatives of a number of government and private stakeholders and a group of academics and experts in the sector will participate in the laboratory and it aims to design an investment programme for the food security sector in the Sultanate at a strategic level.

The laboratory focuses on the main activities related to agricultural, fish and livestock wealth, water resources, and food safety and quality and does it through projects, investment opportunities, project enablers and an incentive package.
