ArabFinance: Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Said agreed to allocate EGP 210 million to develop Assiut University hospitals, according to an October 25thstatement.

El Said noted that EGP 200 million will be used in equipping and operating the emergency and injuries hospital project, which is being carried out at a total cost of EGP 590 million.

This healthcare establishment will be partially opened in January 2021, El Said stated.

The allotment comes as part of the EGP 47 billion state investments pledged for developing Upper Egypt over fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, the minister noted.

Egypt has allotted EGP 841.2 million in investments for Assiut governorate during the current FY.
