SecureMisr, a Cairo-based leading provider of cybersecurity services in Egypt announced on Monday it has been acquired by Cysiv, a US-based cybersecurity services company that was launched in 2018 by Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions.

According to the press statement, SecureMisr, as a Cysiv company, will continue to offer all of its current penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, security operation centre (SOC), training and other related consulting services, in Egypt and the Middle East.

We are very pleased to have been acquired by Cysiv, said Badr Khairy, co-founder and managing director, SecureMisr. The combination of SecureMisrs deep cybersecurity expertise and long track record of success, with Cysivs technology platform, vision, and strong Trend Micro heritage and backing, creates a more powerful force for helping enterprises better defend themselves from cyberattacks. The acquisition highlights our highly regarded cyber expertise and service delivery capabilities, and a strong presence in a region with tremendous growth potential.

Were very excited to be joining forces with the SecureMisr team, said Moataz El Sayed, vice president, international business development for Cysiv. This acquisition gives us a team of highly regarded experts with complementary skills, and well-established customer relationships that together will help launch us in the Middle East North Africa region. With Egypts strong computer science and engineering university programs, Cysiv also gains access to a deep pool of highly capable cybersecurity talent that can support long-term, sustainable growth, and help enable us to more effectively scale our operations to support broader demand.
