Cairo – The Egyptian minister of transport Kamel El-Wazir announced that a total of 20 railway locomotives have been shipped by General Electric (GE) on Tuesday, 10 March, to be delivered by the end of March.

The shipment is part of a total of 110 locomotives to be delivered by GE, El-Wazier said in a statement on Wednesday.

In December 2019, 10 locomotives were delivered and then entered service, he added.

GE has manufactured 60 locomotives so far and delivery will continue as scheduled, he remarked.
