Cairo - Germany's KfW Development Bank (KfW) has provided Egypt with EUR 41 million as part of the debt swap programme between the two countries to finance the comprehensive technical education initiative, the Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, said.
The comprehensive technical education agreement is the last one to be financed within the second tranche of the second phase of the debt swap programme, El-Mashat added in a statement on Sunday.
The second phase, which totals EUR 80 million, will be used in financing three development projects in several sectors, including technical and vocational education sectors.
The first phase of the debt swap programme with Germany was finalised with total financing of EUR 70 million.
In addition, the first and second tranches of the second phase have been made available to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education with respective values of EUR 10 million and EUR 80 million.
