DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Dubai-based contractor Drake & Scull International (DSI.DFM), or DSI, said Wednesday a wholly-owned subsidiary has secured a 470 million U.A.E. dirhams ($128.1 million) sub-contract for infrastructure work at a pumping station in Abu Dhabi.
Drake & Scull Water and Power LLC, or DSWP, has secured a sub-contract for the design review, procurement and construction of mechanical, electrical and plumbing & instrumentation works for the Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme, or STEP, pumping station in Abu Dhabi, the company said in a statement posted on the Dubai market website.
The construction of the pumping station will be executed in partnership with Brazil's Construtora Norberto Odebrecht, the main design and build contractor.
DSWP will commence the execution of the MEP package immediately after the civil works have been completed, the statement added.
Developed by Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, STEP will be one of the longest gravity-driven waste-water tunnels in the world designed to reduce the pressure on the current sewerage system and to expand its future capacity, DSI said.
DSI shares closed up 0.2% at AED0.96 Tuesday.
