Dubai: The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has signed a new e-charity system agreement for Emirates Charity Portal (ECP) with Computer Network Systems (CNS).
ECP is a new project developed by IACAD which joins the charity sector in Dubai on one platform. The aim of the IACAD-CNS agreement is to build the infrastructure for this e-charity system.
Integrated solutions will allow charities, among other services, to coordinate work and identify individuals benefiting from more than one charity.
The portal will serve as a centre point connecting all Dubai-based charities and institutions as well as other UAE-wide charity associations who can join the ‘cloud’ and partially use the system.
IACAD director and manager Dr Hamad Al Shaibani said: “Supervising charitable establishments and centres administratively, financially and culturally in the emirate of Dubai is one of IACAD’s key missions.
He added: “Through Emirates Charity portal we will be able to oversee all the different activities within these associations, even improve cross-charities cooperation. CNS has showed us great commitment for the development of the portal infrastructure and we are proud of this collaboration.
“The private cloud solution for e-charity is a unique technology art funded by IACAD.”
CNS General Manager Ehab Al Saheli said: “Building a centralised portal infrastructure to ease the process of charitable works and help increase productivity in the charity sector by interconnecting all the charity associations and institutions in Dubai is a great project for CNS to undertake… Participating in such projects is part of the CNS mission to better serve the communities in the UAE.”
