Dubai: Dubai University College (DUC), the educational arm of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), has signed a training agreement with the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC). Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwee, DCCI's Director General and Jamal Lootah, Director, Human Resources and General Administration (Shared Services) at PCFC, singed the agreement. Al Mutaiwee said that in line with its mission, it has always been the endeavour at DUC to meet the skills and qualifications gap that exists in the business community. "Through the Business English language training programme we wish to upgrade the language skills of UAE nationals, so that they are prepared to cope with globalisation and meet international standards," he said. Usha Kaul Saraf, Manager, Centre for Management and Professional Development, said, "This decision is an outcome of successful customised training programmes in Business English to 50 employees of PCFC in December 2005."

NRI centre officials meet Goans today

Dubai: The NRI Facilitation Centre from the Indian state of Goa is holding a meeting today with Goan expats in the UAE at the Imperial Suites Hotel, Bur Dubai, at 7.30pm. The three-member delegation will ascertain problems that Goans face which will be forwarded to the state government in Goa.
