DOHA - Citibank N A Qatar, a member of Citi, has donated $25,000 to The American School in Doha (ASD) for the school's campus expansion.

Founded in 1988, ASD over the last years has grown from a small school of 500 students to a projected enrollment of 1600 students in the academic year 2007-2008, hence the need for expanding its campus, especially the middle and high school facilities.

Farhan Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer for Citibank Qatar, said: "we are very pleased to partner with ASD in their ambitious expansion plans. This grant demonstrates our resolve to fulfil our duty as a responsible corporate citizen in Qatar and elsewhere in the region."

Ed Ladd, ASD Director, said, "Thanks to the generous support of corporates like Citibank, the American School of Doha will be able to expand its campus as planned in order to meet the enrollment demands by Qatari and expatriate students alike, and to fulfil its mission as provider of quality education in Qatar."

Citi has been in the Arab World for nearly 50 years and continues to view the region as critical to its global franchise. It is currently present in ten Arab countries including Egypt, UAE, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
