BEIJING, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Senior officials of a Chinese telecommunications engineering company met here Tuesday with a visiting Kuwaiti delegation, led by Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Bader Nasser Al-Humeidi.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the meeting, the Kuwaiti minister hailed the meeting with Ming Vingshao, chairman of the China Telecommunications Engineering Company, his deputy and chief executive officers as "fruitful", saying he listened to a detailed elaboration from the delegation on the projects carried out by the state-owned Chinese company affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, including the building of bridges, roads, hospitals, trains and ships and the deepening of seas and ports.

The Chinese team also met with officials of the China Harbor Engineering Company, a subsidiary of the China Telecommunications Engineering Company, and listened to a detailed elaboration by its officials on the way of building suspension bridges as a prelude to using it in Kuwait, the minister added.

They also paid an inspection tour of the second stage of Beijing-Qing-Dao highway, expressing impression at high-tech used in the project, the Kuwaiti minister said, noting that such a Chinese high-tech would be used to build highways in Kuwait.

The Chinese Company for Port Engineering has recently won a contract to execute Boubyan Port project, which includes a bridge for cars, a canal and a watercourse for the port.

The Kuwaiti minister is expected to meet Chinese Minister of Transport and Communications Li Xingling on Wednesday.

The Kuwaiti team comprises, in addition to the minister of public works, Hussein Mansour, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works for major projects, Hamid Bushehri, manager of Public Relations at the ministry, Omar Bohamad, manger of Hawali Governorate Maintenance Department, Saud Al-Naqi, manger of the Highways Department, and Ahmad Al-Bahr, chairman of the Road Engineering Sector.
