Muscat: The use of anodised aluminum poles for Oman's lighting market has great advantage because of its anti-corrosion property and it is here that the Poland-based Roza, a pioneer and the market leader in innovative anodised aluminum poles and columns, is offering its products and expertise in meeting the country's demands in a big way, said Stanislaw Rosa, chairman of Roza.
In an exclusive interview with Times of Oman on the sidelines of an event held here yesterday to celebrate their association with Al Hassan Electricals, Rosa, said, "Oman is a hot country and our weather-proof products like aluminum poles have a vital edge over others in that they have anodised coating. We currently have the largest aluminum anodising plant in central and eastern Europe. Rosa provides anodising and electrolytic colouring and interference of aluminum elements (profiles, sheet, pipes and construction elements)."
Huge opportunity
"We look at the big opportunity in Oman on this front and are keen to be a big player though our sole distributor in Oman -- Al Hassan Electricals. A chance meeting with J. Raghuram, head of lighting division at Al Hassan, in 2010 that we decided to forge an alliance and from then on, we are actively involved in several projects here. Our initial projects which include the Seeb beach front, for regional municipalities works in Saham and Liwa have been well acknowledged. Recently we have been awarded the Wave realm park for The Wave Muscat," he added.
"Our three manufacturing plants in Poland offers more than 6,000 products based on our own technology and solutions. We produce 80,000 aluminum posts and 20,000 plastic poles annually. Fifty per cent of our products are consumed locally while the other 50 per cent are distributed in the international market, including the GCC. Our products which include flanged aluminum columns, rooted aluminum columns, extension arms and brackets, high masts, decorative columns, plastic coated poles, street lights and LED luminaries to name a few come with a ten-year guarantee," Rosa explained.
Accepting that light emitting diodes (LED) is where the future of lighting lies, Rosa says, "Products currently used for Oman market include LED."
When asked about any plans to get into streetlights powered by solar energy in Oman, Roza averred, "Seven years ago, we developed the solar products but did not pursue them vigorously but time has come for us develop them further meeting the demands of the industry. And we are aware of solar-powered streetlighting requirements present in this region."

At a event held yesterday evening, Al Hassan Electricals, the flagship company of Al Hassan Group formally announced their association with Rosa. The announcement was made at a seminar organised jointly by Rosa and Al Hassan Electricals, here yesterday.
The occasion was graced by Al Hassan Group's top management led by Hassan bin Ali Salman, chairman; and Maqbool bin Ali Salman, managing director, and was attended by high-profile lighting designers, architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors and representatives of media.
"We are extremely delighted to partner with Al Hassan lighting division who is the leading distributors/lighting solutions providers in Oman. Our poles can be made available in different colours suited to the project requirement which is a very unique feature. We are confident that our products will be well received in Oman," he pointed out.
