Amwaj Islands launched Amwaj Marina, the group's latest multi-million dinar realty development. Amwaj Marina will be the waterway access to Amwaj Islands and the Kingdom's newest marina. The circular marina is located on the western seafront of Amwaj Islands and will be operational from today. It will have the capacity to rent out 145 berths and will be able to host up to four super yachts in deepwater berths. "This is one of the most important developments within Amwaj Islands. It will be the seafront entrance to Amwaj Islands. Boat owners will be able to moor to the marina and spend the day taking in a variety of other attractions located within a short distance of the marina, including the theme park, a retail centre, hotels, beaches and Amwaj Beach Club," said Martin Kay, CEO of Amwaj Islands.
Amwaj Marina, a five-star facility has advanced security systems. Additionally, the marina will host boating activities and lessons through the Sail Laser Academy, and in the future, will offer a variety of water sports like windsurfing, kayaking and pedalo. "We are excited to launch the 60,000- square metre marina after almost two years of planning and development. The marina will serve as the waterway to Amwaj Islands, providing boat owners access to attractions and residential communities by way of the sea. This will make a unique experience, not only for the residents of Amwaj, but also for visitors," said Martin Kay. "Amwaj Marina will be the destination marina for boat owners across Bahrain.
It will soon feature cafes and swimming facilities," said Peter Jennings, Marina Manager of Amwaj Islands. "Amwaj Marina has serviced berthing for 141 boats of up to 20 metres long and four boats up to 30 metres long. It has a diameter of almost 300 metres and an area of some 70,000 square metres. The depth of the basin is 6m below chart datum with a deep water channel to the open sea. A new company is being formed to run the marina," he said.
