Muscat - Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Co has been awarded two tenders to supply fuel to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the company said in a filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Wednesday.
"We are pleased to advise that Al Maha Petroleum has succeeded in obtaining two tenders to supply fuel to the Ministry of Defence for five years. The two tenders will have a positive impact on the sales and profit of the company," the company said in its filing.
Earlier in January, Shell Oman Marketing Co had announced that it had lost two fuel-supply tenders of the MoD that would adversely impact its 2014 net
income by approximately RO1mn.
Al Maha Petroleum also announced that its net profit in 2013 increased 3.5 per cent to RO10.38mn, from RO10.03mn in 2012.
Total sales rose by 4.5 per cent to RO318.5mn in 2013, compared with RO304.76mn in the previous year. The total cost of sales gained by 4.8 per cent to RO292.24mn.
The company's operating and admininstrative expenses inched up 0.1 per cent to RO16.39mn.
