Al Hassan Engineering Company has won a RO14mn Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) contract to develop phase III of the Zauliyah Gas Compression Project, according to a statement released by the company to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM).

Declining to reveal further details of the project, Al Hassan's corporate communications manager Prashant Kutaula said, "We are very hopeful of securing more similar contracts. We are happy with this contract."

Awarded for a period of 26 months, the contract is the latest PDO contract to be awarded to Al Hassan, which won a US$5.82mn contract by GS Engineering for the electronic and instrumentation works on PDO's Saih Nihayda Depletion Compression Project on September 28 last year.

On March 14, 2010, Al Hassan also announced it has been awarded a US$9.45mn contract to build temporary facilities by GS Engineering for the PDO Saih Nihayda project.
