Abu Dhabi, March 23rd, 2011 (WAM) -- ADWEA leadership team has embarked on a major initiative dubbed, "ASTRO" or "ADWEA Strategic Transformation" to reinforce its alignment with Abu Dhabi 2030 plans policy agenda and vision.
As the name suggests, ADWEA seeks through ASTRO to completely transform into a more efficient, customer-oriented, and competitive organization that will significantly contribute to Abu Dhabis overall development. On March 22nd 2011 ADWEA organized its 5th senior management workshop to discuss a new model for the Office of Strategy Management "OSM" for the ADWEA group of companies. The workshop was attended by over 70 executives from ADWEA and its group companies. Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, ADWEAs Director General, in his opening speech at the workshop said, "Each of the group companies is equipped today with a "5-year Strategic Plan" with priorities, KPIs and initiatives that are fully aligned to ADWEA and the Abu Dhabi Government vision, and horizontally in line with the rest of the companies across the Sector". He also added, "Our main objective today is to put in place best practices to implement the Strategic Plan, in addition to finding the monitoring systems that need to be implemented to ensure proper execution of the strategy". A presentation was given during this workshop that summarized the findings from a recent benchmarking visit by a high level delegation from ADWEA group to a number of highly recognized companies in Europe to learn from their own strategic planning practices.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2011.
