Sharjah-based Advantage Taxi, one of the four companies franchised by Sharjah Transport Corporation, is adding 500 more taxis to its fleet.
Advantage Taxi, part of the Al Yousuf Group, will be adding Chevrolet Epica vehicles to its fleet, following an agreement with Liberty Automobiles to buy 500 vehicles, one of the largest such orders. With this, the size of Advantage Taxi fleet will increase to 1,750.
"Since entering the taxi business three years ago, we have seen demand for taxis rising phenomenally in Sharjah," said Mohammad Al Haddad, managing director, Advantage Taxi. "We selected Chevrolet Epicas because we have found these vehicles to be tough and reliable, and ideally suited for the taxi business. We are impressed with Liberty's service standards, another factor critical to the taxi business."
Abdul Malik, group general manager of Liberty Automobiles, said: "We are delighted that Advantage Taxi has chosen to deploy more Chevrolet Epica vehicles for its taxi service, which reflects their confidence in the brand. We have no doubt that the excellent performance of these vehicles, backed by our solid service credentials, will help Advantage Taxi get best returns on their investment."
The agreement was signed by Mohammad Al Haddad, managing director, Advantage Taxi, and Abdul Malik, group general manager, Liberty Automobiles. Advantage Taxi is part of the Transport Division of Al Yousuf Group.
