The National Health Insurance Company, aka 'Dhaman' has been established with a capital of dhs250 million to be the sole provider of compulsory and optional health insurance services to all non-national government employees for a ten year period.

President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi issued a decree setting up Dhaman as a public company.
